Revanth Wins Indian Idol Finale on Sony TV Live

http://www.yupptv.com/sony_tv_live.html
As 27 year old LV Revanth lifted the coveted trophy on the Indian Idol stage on Sunday night, he paved way for many aspiring singers from down south to participate in reality shows in Mumbai. Revanth, a well known name in Telugu and Kannada cinema for his playback singing, faced a language barrier when he set foot on the Indian Idol stage in its ninth season. But sheer hardwork, talent and immense popularity ensured he won ninth season. Revanth is only the second Telugu singer to have won the Indian Idol. In 2005, Telugu singer Sreeram Chandra had won the competition.

Born in 1990, Revanth’s full name is Lolla Venkata Revanth Kumar Sharma. Revanth studied in in Srikakulam and Visakhapatnam before moving to Hyderabad to pursue a career in playback singing. Having sung in nearly 200 Telugu and Kannada films, Revanth was a known name down south when he participated in Indian Idol.

Revanth’s father passed away before he was born and young singer is known to be close to his mother and elder brother. In 2008, he sang his first film song, Jhalak Diklaja in Maha Yagnam, composed by Vandemataram Srinivas.

The Indian Idol win is not his first though. In the past. He has, in the past, participated in several other reality shows on various Telugu television channels and emerged as a winner in all of them. Interestingly, Revanth has not been trained formally in music. ““Family situations never allowed me to do anything big. I came to Indian Idol not to win or lose, but only to sing. The best part about the show is the learning I got. I will go back home and visit a temple to offer my prayers to God,” said the singer.
